The math, shown

Mifflin-St Jeor (1990): men 10×weight + 6.25×height − 5×age + 5 · women 10×weight + 6.25×height − 5×age − 161. In the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ systematic review it predicted measured resting metabolic rate more reliably than older equations (Frankenfield 2005), which is why it is the primary number above.

Revised Harris-Benedict (Roza & Shizgal 1984): men 88.362 + 13.397×weight + 4.799×height − 5.677×age · women 447.593 + 9.247×weight + 3.098×height − 4.330×age. Shown for comparison because many apps and hospital sheets still use it — the gap row tells you how much the choice of equation moves your number.

BMR is measured lying still, fasted, in a neutral-temperature room. Digestion, standing, walking and training all sit on top of it — for a daily calorie target, use the TDEE calculator.

These are population formulas — a starting point, not a prescription. Your training history, sleep, stress and cycle shift the real answer. That is what the 9-axis Body Scan measures.
